Please join us for an online workshop organized by Task 16, "Beyond Generation: Maximizing Long-Term Benefits and System Performance at Hydropower Upgrades and Retrofit Sites". Retrofitting existing water infrastructure – dams, locks, and conveyance structures - remains a significant frontier for growth in power capacity and generation around the world. Many of these projects also provide additional benefits for society and the environment, with some achieving certification through rigorous programs administered by the Low Impact Hydropower Institute and the Hydropower Sustainability Alliance. This workshop will increase awareness of these certification processes and highlight successes accomplished by recent projects.
